What's in Scratch Live 2.5?

The newest installment of Apple’s operating system called “MacOS High Sierra” is slated for release today.As tempting as it can be to get the most recent features on your computer, you should understand the implications on your DJ/Music production workflow. The tool can also be called 'Scratch LIVE 18109', 'Scratch LIVE 17412', 'Scratch LIVE 18120'. The actual developer of the free software is Serato Inc LP. This free PC program is compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 environment, 32-bit version. The most popular versions of the Scratch LIVE are 2.5, 2.4 and 2.3. It can determine which Serato Scratch Live Drivers are either missing, corrupt, or have become obsolete. Next, Easy Driver Pro searches a database of over 11 million drivers and matches missing, corrupt, or obsolete Serato Scratch Live Drivers to the latest, most compatible drivers for your operating system. MIDI Output Lighting

Scratch Live 2.5 Bug Fixes

Alongside these key features Scratch Live 2.5 also includes bug fixes to continue the unparalleled level of stability and performance that Serato software is known for.

Some examples of the bug fixes are:

• Mixtape .als recordings now work with Ableton Live 9.
• Fixed a bug where the beatgrid lock wasn't being saved and loaded to/from the file; it was only being saved to the database.
• The Sixty-Eight record source is now correctly loaded from preferences.
• Fixed a bug where the CDJ-350 was sending both MIDI and HID messages which meant it could possibly fire two different Scratch Live events at the same time.
• Fixed a bug where the DJFX deck assignments wouldn't save to preferences if going from being 'on' initially, to 'off'.

New operating systems add amazing new features and security to our world but that can often come at the cost of compatibility with our current software and drivers, many of which are vital pieces to a studio or DJ setup. While software and hardware drivers can be updated to account for the changes in a new operating system, this is not always immediate. To prevent any downtime waiting for an update, it's much easier check the compatibility of your gear before making the jump. This article is a list of all macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 compatible Numark hardware, as well as what you'll need to know before updating.

3 Things You'll Need to Know

1. Is my product supported? We're happy to tell you that most Numark products are already supported on macOS High Sierra without any need for additional driver or firmware updates. If you haven't already, check our list of supported class-compliant and driver required products below to make sure your Numark product is ready for the update to High Sierra.
   
2. Apple's new OS includes new security features that require the user to allow a system extension when installing a new driver. This is very simple and only needs to be done once for each driver. So, if you're installing any new driver on macOS High Sierra, look out for the following pop-up message and check out the driver section for instructions.
   The good news is that this is only necessary if you are installing a new driver. If you are updating to High Sierra and already have the latest driver for your device installed, you will not need to re-install the driver or complete these steps.
   
3. While your Numark products are ready for macOS High Sierra, that doesn't mean everybody is. If you use one of our products with a third-party software title like Serato or Virtual DJ, be sure to check with the developer to confirm support for the new OS before updating.

Driver Supported Hardware

Required: All driver supported products on macOS High Sierra will now require the user to allow the system extension in the Security & Privacy System Preferences. After installing the driver, the following pop-up will appear to report that the driver extension has been blocked:

To enable the extension and allow the driver, navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Restart the computer first if this is necessary to complete the driver installation. Under the General tab, look for the 'System software from developer '(driver developer)' was blocked from loading.'

Click Allow. Follow the prompts to restart the computer if necessary and the device will be recognized normally on startup. It will only be necessary to complete this process once.
